4 DAYS MOUNT MERU

Mount Meru is a striking mountain in Tanzania, standing at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet) tall. It's a popular alternative to Mount Kilimanjaro and offers a rewarding trekking experience. The climb takes around 3-4 days and takes you through lush forests, rocky terrains, and diverse ecosystems. From the summit, called Socialist Peak, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding national park, including Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru is known for its abundant wildlife, such as colobus monkeys and giraffes, making it a memorable adventure for nature lovers.

TRIP ITINERARY

Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut Begin your Mount Meru adventure at Momella Gate and hike through the picturesque Momella Route. Enjoy the diverse wildlife and lush forests along the way. Reach Miriakamba Hut, located at an elevation of around 2,500 meters (8,200 feet), and spend the night there.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut Continue your ascent through the alpine zone, witnessing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Trek to Saddle Hut, situated at approximately 3,500 meters (11,500 feet), and spend the night, preparing for the next day's summit push.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak and descent to Miriakamba Hut Embark on an early morning summit attempt to reach Socialist Peak, the highest point of Mount Meru at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet). Experience the awe-inspiring sunrise and panoramic vistas from the summit. Afterward, descend back to Saddle Hut for a brief rest. Continue your descent to Miriakamba Hut for overnight stay.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate On the final day, descend from Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate, marking the end of your Mount Meru trek. Take in the remaining scenic views and bid farewell to the beautiful surroundings. Celebrate your accomplishment before departing for your next adventure.
