Full Itinerary

Day 1: Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a flight from Zanzibar to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will meet your friendly guide and drive to Tarangire National Park, about 2.5–3 hours from Arusha. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and beautiful open landscapes. You may also spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and many colorful bird species.Enjoy a picnic or hot lunch in the park while watching the animals and taking photos. Continue your afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge  for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Karatu to Ndutu (Serengeti)

After breakfast, you will take lunch boxes and begin the drive to Ndutu, about 260 km (approximately 5.5 hours). After 2 hours, you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape changes from hilly forests to open grasslands. Ndutu is part of the Serengeti ecosystem and is on the route of the Great Migration, home to over 2 million wildebeest and thousands of zebras and gazelles. Between December and April, the area becomes a calving ground, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

The park also has Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek, which host many animals during the dry season. Ndutu is known for six species of big cats and excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.Enjoy a game drive during the journey and continue exploring the plains upon arrival. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Ndutu, exploring the plains and spotting wildlife. A picnic lunch will be served in the park, giving you time to relax and enjoy the scenery. After lunch, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim, a 75 km journey taking about 2.5 hours.

On the way, you may spot wildlife along the route, including zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes.The Ngorongoro Crater rim offers stunning views of the surrounding highlands and is one of Africa’s most spectacular geological formations. Dinner and overnight at your camp near the crater rim.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Arusha / Zanzibar

Start the day early with breakfast and descend at around 6:30 am into the Ngorongoro Crater floor, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater spans 260 sq. km and is over 2,000 feet deep, making it one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

Spend 5–6 hours playing driving across the crater floor. This is the best place to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, and the rare black rhino. Keep your camera ready, as the wildlife is abundant and close.Enjoy a picnic lunch at the hippo pool, one of the most scenic spots in the crater. After lunch, slowly ascend the steep crater walls for your final views before driving back to Arusha.

You will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your flight back to Zanzibar or onward destination, ending your safari with amazing memories of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
