This 8-day lodge safari takes you to some of the most famous and beautiful destinations in Northern Tanzania. You will visit Tarangire , Lake Manyara National Park, the world-famous Serengeti, the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, and experience the culture of the Hadzabe people at Lake Eyasi. During this safari, you can see the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos – along with giraffes, zebras, flamingos, hippos, and many colorful birds.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in the morning. A friendly driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax and recover from your flight. Take some time to rest, enjoy the hotei, and explore Arusha town if you arrive early. You could visit local markets, craft shops, and coffee plantations, or just enjoy the peaceful scenery.

Day 2: Arusha → Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your private safari guide and driver will pick you up for the drive to Tarangire National Park, which is about 2–3 hours away. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside, passing small villages, farmland, and rolling hills.

Upon arrival at Tarangire, begin your full-day game drive in one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich parks. Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and diverse landscapes ranging from dry riverbeds to lush greenery along the Tarangire River. During your game drive, your guide will help you spot and identify a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and hundreds of species of birds, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers.

Stop in the park for a picnic lunch, enjoying your meal surrounded by the sounds of nature, with wildlife often nearby for incredible photo opportunities. After lunch, continue with afternoon game drive, exploring different parts of the park to see more wildlife and scenic views.In the evening, drive to your hotel  to relax after a full day of adventure. Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will begin your journey to the Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. The drive takes you through rolling hills, Maasai villages, and the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, giving you a glimpse of Tanzania’s beautiful landscapes and local culture along the way.

Upon arrival in the Seronera area, the heart of the Serengeti, you will embark on your first afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is known for its endless golden plains, large predator populations, and abundant wildlife. During the game drive you may see lions resting in the shade of acacia trees, cheetahs stalking prey, leopards hiding in bushes, elephants moving gracefully across the plains, zebras grazing, wildebeest herds, giraffes, buffaloes, and a variety of birds.

Over these two days, enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, as wildlife is most active during these cooler hours. Your professional guide will help you spot animals, share interesting facts about their behavior, and ensure the best photography opportunities.Lunch will be a picnic inside the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. In the evenings, return to your lodge or tented camp to enjoy dinner, relax, and share stories of your wildlife encounters.

The Serengeti is also famous for its stunning sunsets, which paint the sky over the vast savannah in golden and orange hues perfect for photography and simply soaking in the beauty of Africa. These two days provide a complete wildlife experience, offering chances to see some of Africa’s most iconic animals up close in their natural habitat.

Day 5: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning game drive in the Serengeti. Later, drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping for a Maasai cultural visit. Learn about Maasai traditions, songs, and lifestyle while taking photos of their unique culture.Arrive at Ang’ata Lodge on the crater rim, offering stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you can relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Wake up early in the morning and prepare for a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most famous natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is a massive volcanic caldera, rich in wildlife, with over 25,000 animals living in this unique ecosystem.

Spend the day on a full-day game drive, exploring the crater floor. You will have the chance to see the Big Five—elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino—as well as other amazing wildlife including hippos in the water, flamingos along the lakeshore, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and hyenas. Your guide will point out the animals, share interesting facts about their behavior, and help you capture memorable photos.

Stop for a picnic lunch at the famous Hippo Pool, surrounded by breathtaking views of the crater walls, wide grasslands, and wildlife all around. This is the perfect opportunity to relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy meal in the heart of nature. In the afternoon, slowly ascend back to the crater rim, enjoying the panoramic views one last time. Afterward, drive to your lodge  for dinner, rest, and overnight.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller but incredibly scenic park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare sight where lions rest on acacia trees, as well as large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes. The shallow soda lake often turns pink with thousands of flamingos, creating a spectacular and colorful scene.

Spend the day on a game drive, exploring the park’s diverse habitats—from dense forests and open grasslands to the beautiful lake shores. Your professional guide will point out wildlife, share interesting facts about their behaviors, and help you spot birds and mammals you might otherwise miss. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 400 species recorded, so make sure to have your binoculars ready. Take plenty of photos as you enjoy the peaceful scenery, spotting animals in their natural environment. After an exciting day of wildlife adventures, drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, reflecting on the beautiful animals and landscapes you have seen.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi to Departure

After breakfast at your lodge, set out for Lake Eyasi, located in the northern part of Tanzania. This area is home to the Hadzabe people, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. During your visit, you will have the rare opportunity to observe their traditional lifestyle, including how they hunt with bows and arrows, gather food from the wild, and pass down cultural knowledge through storytelling and rituals.
Spend the morning interacting with the Hadzabe, learning about their customs, songs, and dances. Your guide will help explain their unique way of life, giving you a deeper understanding of Tanzania’s rich cultural diversity. This experience provides a meaningful and memorable connection with local people and their environment.After the cultural visit, you will transfer back to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, depending on your flight schedule. On the way, take in the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania one last time.
