Tour Summary

After breakfast, our friendly and knowledgeable guide will pick you up and drive you to Lake Duluti, named by the local Wameru tribe. Along the way, you may choose to visit the vibrant local market, which is especially lively on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Upon arrival, you will begin your guided activities, exploring the lake’s rich history, engaging with the local community, and observing a variety of birds and reptiles, including monitor lizards. 

Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro as you soak in the natural beauty. Your adventure is perfectly complemented with a local meal and a refreshing Kilimanjaro beer—hot or cold—before returning to Arusha or the airport.

Full Itinerary

Day 1 : Arusha town to Lake Duluti

After breakfast, our charming and friendly guide will pick you up and drive to Lake Duluti. Local Tribe(Wameru) in the area named it Duluti. On your way, you may decide to visit the local Market as it peaks on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On your arrival, you will begin your programmed activities as scheduled by our guide. 

The lake will amaze you with its history, local people, variety of birds, reptiles like monitor lizards and beautiful view of Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Local meals mixed with a touch of a cold or warm Kilimanjaro beer will sweeten up your adventure before heading back to Arusha town or to the airport

Trip Tips

  • Keep a look out for the impressive (but harmless) monitor lizards which live around the lake.
  • There are some steep park on the hike so you have to be reasonably fit to take the walk.
  • It can be a bit slippery in the rainy season and we advise taking this walk during that time.
  • Bring your camera.
  • Visas are required when traveling to Tanzania, Foreigners may apply for a visa online in advance of travel.
  • A passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond visa insurance and/or date of entry.
  • Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travelers arriving from or having transited through countries where yellow fever is endemic.
  • You are advised to bring hiking shoes because you will have a walks through the forest reserves.
